HEADLINES
- Congress is careening toward shutting down the government as both chambers struggle to pass any funding legislation.
- President Joe Biden is in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly.
- Upon his return later this week, Biden will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
HOUSE
- The House will be in session tonight through Thursday, attempting again to pass Pentagon funding legislation after it stalled amid Republican infighting last week.
- The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow with Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo on implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act.
- Wednesday, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will hold an oversight hearing with Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

SENATE
- The Senate will be in session throughout the week, also trying again on spending legislation that was held up last week.
- Tomorrow, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing titled “Evading Accountability: Corporate Manipulation of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.”
- Thursday, the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will vote on public health legislation, including a bipartisan agreement aimed at bolstering the primary care workforce.

WHITE HOUSE
- The president is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, and he will hold several bilateral meetings.
- Thursday, Biden will host Ukrainian President Zelensky at the White House.
- Thursday evening, he will speak at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s 46th Annual Awards Gala.
