The House will hold floor <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/schedule/weekly-schedule.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">votes</a> tonight through Thursday, with an ambitious agenda <a href="https://punchbowl.news/archive/42726-am/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">attempting</a> to approve a reauthorization of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act authorities, the farm bill, and the Senate’s budget resolution.

Cabinet officials appearing in budget hearings include Defense Secretary <a href="https://armedservices.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=6546" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pete Hegseth</a>, and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin at both the <a href="https://appropriations.house.gov/schedule/hearings/budget-hearing-environmental-protection-agency-0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Appropriations</a> and <a href="https://energycommerce.house.gov/events/environment-hearing-the-fiscal-year-2027-environmental-protection-agency-budget">Energy and Commerce</a> Committees.

Tomorrow, the Ways and Means Committee will hold a <a href="https://waysandmeans.house.gov/event/full-committee-hearing-with-health-system-ceos/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> with health system CEOs.

The Senate will continue <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/floor_activity_pail.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">consideration</a> of Trump’s administration nominees.  

Budget hearings include <a href="https://www.epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/hearings?ID=2A1BC306-F44D-45A7-898D-E968BFEA1445" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zeldin</a>, Education Secretary <a href="https://www.appropriations.senate.gov/hearings/a-review-of-the-presidents-fiscal-year-2027-budget-request-for-the-department-of-education" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Linda McMahon</a>, and Interior Secretary <a href="https://www.energy.senate.gov/hearings/2026/4/full-committee-hearing-to-examine-the-president-s-budget-request-for-the-department-of-the-interior-for-fiscal-year-2027" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Doug Burgum</a>.

The Banking Committee will <a href="https://www.banking.senate.gov/hearings/04/14/2026/nomination-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">vote</a> Wednesday on Kevin Warsh’s nomination to chair the Federal Reserve.

Trump will <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/2026/04/president-donald-j-trump-and-first-lady-melania-trump-to-welcome-his-majesty-king-charles-the-iii-of-the-united-kingdom-of-great-britain-and-northern-ireland-and-her-majesty-queen-camilla-for-a-state/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">host</a> King Charles III today through Thursday.

The administration is investigating Saturday night’s <a href="https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/white-house-correspondents-dinner-trump-shooting" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">attack</a> on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Trump’s next steps on Iran are <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/trump-pakistan-iran-blockade-hormuz-israel-april-26" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">unclear</a> after he canceled the U.S. delegation’s trip to the Middle East for negotiations.
