After a U.S District Court judge issued an injunction on Sept. 7, 2022, that bars GE from making, selling, importing or installing Haliade-X offshore wind turbines in the U.S., a BakerHostetler team representing Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) in its patent infringement case against GE has secured the first runner-up spot in AmLaw’s Litigator of the Week for Sept. 16.
This marks the second time in just three months that the BakerHostetler team has been recognized by AmLaw for Litigator of the Week. In June 2022, when the team won the SGRE case against GE, the jury awarded the maximum requested running royalty of $30,000 per megawatt, which is estimated to be worth more than $60 million. That win earned the team its initial runner-up Litigator of the Week spot.
Led by Partners Leif Sigmond and Mike Gannon, the BakerHostetler team includes Partners Dan Goettle, Jason Hoffman and Cy Walker and Associates Stephanie Hatzikyriakou and Liza Sneitzer.
