Sean has served as lead counsel for defendants in class action litigation arising out of data breaches of all sizes, including some of the largest health care data breaches on record. He also defends clients in class actions alleging violations of state privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Colorado Prevention of Telemarketing Fraud Act and Right to Publicity statutes.
In addition to his litigation work, Sean maintains a strong white collar defense practice where he leads internal investigations and defends corporations and individuals in government enforcement actions involving the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Sean has investigated and defended numerous high-profile matters, both criminal and civil, involving alleged accounting and securities fraud, health care fraud, environmental violations arising out of the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, violations of the False Claims Act and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
