Jamie structures comprehensive compliance strategies to ensure that clients meet the requirements of their state privacy laws as well as any international regulations and/or restrictions that might be involved. In addition, she is continuing to monitor the legal issues emerging in the areas of adtech and automation, including machine learning and generative AI.

Jamie has extensive experience in artificial intelligence, having been seconded at one of the top five largest U.S. multinational technology conglomerates to advise on generative AI use in monetization strategies. She counsels a broad range of clients on legal issues related to automated technologies, including requirements and compliance with generative AI, profiling, and artificial intelligence laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.

In privacy governance, Jamie assists clients in developing privacy-focused AdTech programs in compliance with privacy laws and best practices. This involves bridging between the technical aspects of the law and the practical reality of current technologies while assessing user interfaces for risk mitigation.

<li>Advised major telecommunications client on best practices for open-source software usage, ensuring compliance with various open-source licenses, such as GNU GPL.</li>
<li>Drafted clear and concise AI usage guidelines and compliance protocols, promoting responsible AI deployment and data protection within the organization.</li>

Privacy Governance

<li>Provides guidance on comprehensive compliance strategies to meet the requirements of state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other similar legislation enacted throughout the U.S.</li>
<li>Counsels on legally compliant disclosures regarding data management practices, incorporating opt-in and opt-out mechanisms for the collection, use and sharing of personal information.</li>
<li>Creates or updates consumer health data privacy programs, including drafting consumer health data privacy policies, as well as developing legally compliant and risk mitigating cookie postures.</li>
<li>Advises data importers and exporters on adhering to international data transfer restrictions and data localization requirements, such as data processing agreements under the European Union&#8217;s Standard Contractual Clauses.</li>
<li>Assisted with the drafting of data privacy compliance programs for Native American governments using established privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), comprehensive state privacy laws and federal laws in the U.S.</li>
<li>Advised on the application and drafting of contract terms related to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).</li>
<li>Helped lead large regional healthcare providers through implementation of CCPA compliance, including assessment of existing cookie practices, identification of enforcement risks and recommendations of remedial actions to ensure alignment with regulatory guidance and existing privacy law.</li>
